Artist Sonja Hinrichsen created an expansive piece of snow art over the frozen Catamount lake in Colorado. To create the artwork titled 'Snow drawing at Catamount Lake' a group of 60 volunteers trekked on the frozen Catamount lake as per the design instruction provided by Sonja. Though the design of the artwork was created by Henrichsen its the local volunteers that ultimately created the piece by trampling over the snow. The piece of art is almost the size of a small town. Henrichsen believes its important for the community to involve in natural art at a time when we are increasingly becoming disconnected from the natural world.

Hyperrealistic paintings of vintage cars by Cheryl Kelley

Posted: 29 Nov 2014 05:30 PM PST

Paintings created by Cheryl Kelley are so realistic that it takes some time before you realize these are paintings and not photographs. Cherly visits various vintage car shows and museums from where she snaps pictures of these vintage beauties, she then recreates them using oil paint on canvas. The final paintings look much better when compared with the photographs because she manipulates them to suit her artistic taste. She uses a high gloss varnish to mimic the reflective surface of the car.

Born in the 60s she lived in the era of muscle cars and have always been inspired from them, these powerful machines figure extensively in her work. Cheryl Kelley earned her BFA degree from University of Houston, Texas.
