At the height of 530 feet Beachy head is the highest chalk cliff in UK. This beautiful place also features among the most notorious suicide spots in the world. The place witnesses around 20 suicides every year in spite of heavy patrolling. Since the cliff is formed of chalk, the edges frequently erode and fall off into the sea making it a very dangerous place.

The breathtaking natural beauty of the place has made it an important tourist destination. The cliff provides beautiful view of the coastline upto 40 miles in the east and 70 miles to the west. There is also a picturesque light house at the base of the cliff which gets surrounded by water during high tide. The chalk found here is also rich in fossils.
