Porcelain lady figurines painted in tattoos by Jessica Harrison

Scotland based artist Jessica Harrison collects old porcelain figurines of ladies then paints tattoo patterns over them, the tattoo designs are kept traditional keeping in mind the antiquity and nature of the ceramic figurines. Jessica seems to be making a feminist statement about the freedom of women, in spite of the figurines wearing formal clothing she lavishes them with beautiful patterns quiet opposite to what is expected of a lady. Jessica has Phd in Sculpture from Edinburgh college of Art.
